The Innovative School Awards was jointly organized by KSTA(Karnataka Science & Technology Academy) and EGG Heads Education. The students from schools across the country participated and presented their projects through the online portal. Some projects were selected by KSTA and the selected ones were invited to present their projects before the eminent scientists and the Professors from IISc who were the judges for the same. They were awarded the prizes under 3 categories. The students’ confidence level at their ages was really commendable. Nischal V. Pattedar of class IX from BRS Global School won the second prize under category III for his innovative project on 'Water Conservation'.
The Principal of BRS Global school, Mrs. N. Shakila was invited for the Panel discussion on "Challenges in implementing STEM Education in India – An industry Prospective". The other panelists were the eminent representatives from industry, research scholars, experienced educationists and the representative from KSTA. Interesting and thought provoking words were shared by the speakers.
The need for STEM Education in Today's world and the Challenges faced by schools in implementing the same were discussed. The educationists shared their views that schools are gearing towards STEM education in accordance with the demand of the industry. The government has realized the need for the same and they are ready to provide opportunities to the students in achieving their desired goals.
"Let the children explore without fear and let them be given ample opportunities."
